Curriculum Overview

Our school is proud to offer a rigorous and engaging academic program aligned with the Common Core and California Standards-Based Instruction. Designed to challenge and support learners at every level, our curriculum focuses on core subject areas including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies—laying a strong foundation for academic success.

Academic and Social-Emotional Support

We are deeply committed to supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. To help every student thrive, we offer a range of services including Special Education support, Structured English Immersion, counseling services, and targeted academic intervention programs. These supports provide personalized assistance tailored to each student’s unique needs and overall well-being.

Have you heard? We are a Performing Arts School …

The E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts (CLARA) is excited to continue a formal partnership with Hollywood Park Elementary School. Our pilot year, during the 2017-2018 school year was a huge success! We can’t wait to begin our 7th year with CLARA!!

This partnership was established with Hollywood Park to provide greater arts access to SCUSD students and additional opportunities for arts exposure and integration in the classroom.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Social and emotional learning (SEL) enhances students’ capacity to integrate skills, attitudes, and behaviors to deal effectively and ethically with daily tasks and challenges.

Self-Management = The ability to successfully regulate one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in different situations — effectively managing stress, controlling impulses, and motivating oneself; the ability to set and work toward personal and academic goals.

Enrichment

Our goal is to give our students a well-rounded education that encourages them to develop a passion for learning, to show empathy for one another, and to become real-world problem-solvers.

In order to educate the whole child, we work hard to provide enrichment opportunities for all of our students.  Here are some of the programs we offer:

CLARA Performing Arts (all grade levels)

Computers in the Classroom

Community Service Projects

Student Leadership Club

Camp Trips (4th-6th Grade)
